Biography – Learn Flamenco by Carmen de Torres

Carmen was Born in Seville, Spain, she studied regional folkloric dances with Carmen Cano, and flamenco con Jose Jurado, Juan Morilla, Manolo Marín, Carlos Robles, José Galván y La Toná en Sevilla.

Carmen has a reputable teaching experience:
At a very young age she started teaching at the SPANISH CLUB OF WINNIPEG in Winnipeg and later for many years taught at the cultural Association ANDALUCIA DANCERS in Winnipeg, Canadá.

From 1995 until now teaches at her own school in Seville ESTUDIO FLAMENCO CARMEN DE TORRES, since 2014 located in Tomares.

From 1996 till 1999 taught classes for the Delegación de Juventud for the Ayuntamiento de Sevilla in Triana y los Remedios.

In 1998 teaches for the flamenco school Al Andalus to teach for three months, Zurich, Switzerland.

From 2000 till 2006 taught for Delegación de igualdad Ayuntamiento de Sevilla the course FORMACIÓN DE FORMADORAS EN ARTE FLAMENCO.

From 2000 till 2009 teaches in Bern, Switzerland for the Flamenco School of Manuela Kamph.

Master classes for COSTA DEL FLAMENCO in Moscow. 2002.

She teaches master classes in Warsaw, Poland in 2003.

Teaches for the Ayuntamiento de Sevilla, under the Project REDES to teach direct and coordinate the course de ARTES ESCÉNICAS EN FLAMENCO at the Centro Cívico El Esqueleto in Polígono Sur (3000 viviendas) 2005.

Teaches in the UUSS master classes at Lumpoc. and Santa Barbara, California and in Macallen, 2006.

Master classes in Chester England for the Cultural Association DEVA FLAMENCO 2007.

From 2000 till 2012 teaches intensive workshops in Germany in cities such as Dusseldorf, Hamburgo, Bremen, Wurzburg, Nuremberg, etc.

In 2012 teaches intensive workshops in Liverpool for the Peña Flamenca and a Master Class for the International School of Music of Koln, Germany.

Several intensive workshops for different level students in the city of Winnipeg 2014 y 2015

Since 1995 runs her own studio in Sevilla called ESTUDIO FLAMENCO CARMEN DE TORRES.

COMPAÑÍA DE FLAMENCO PACO MOYANO based in Seville with dancers such as Concha Vargas, Israel Galvan, Andres Marin, Eva la Yerbabuena, presenting the production DE LEYENDA in different theatres all over Spain. 1995.,

ALMA FLAMENCA, a flamenco company with base in Rome, Touring all over Italy 1996.

COMPAÑÍA FLAMENCA TRIANA, another flamenco company based in Rome with which she toured all over Italy in 1997.

In 1998 she Works for THE COMPAÑÍA DE RAFAEL SEGURA based in Zurich for which she teaches and tours all over Switzerland and Germany for 3 months.

COMPAÑÍA ROSARIO FLAMENCO based in Vancouver, Canada as guest artist in 2006 presenting the show TABLAO FLAMENCO and in 2007 presenting LOS CUATRO VIENTOS.

During 2014 takes part in the dance Theatre production LAS SANTAS Produced and directed by Rosario Lara presenting it at the following locations: teatro Municipal de Gelves, teatro de Alcala de Guadaira, Sala el Farol, Sevilla; Teatro Viento Sur, Sevilla; and for two weeks at Teatro de la Fundición, Sevilla.

In Moscú, Rusia at the theatre of the Music Conservatory as guest artist with the flamenco Moscow company COSTA DEL FLAMENCO 2003.

Toured Russia with her own compañía of 25 sharing stage with the reknow pianist Yuri Rozum and performing at the ”Manezh” arena; Shchelkovo, Hall of the House of Cosmonauts, Zvezdny Gorodok (Star City) and the closing la gala with: Yuri Rozum, Bolshoi Opera soloists, “Talisman” Group 2006
